This entire bit rattles around in my head 24/7. I love Hera. She contains multitudes.
(Yes we all know the script is wrong she says 4 not 3 in the episode)

Spring 2024 Anime Overview: Train to the End of the World and Tonari no Yokai-san
Who knows if poor Whisper Me a Love Song (a cute yuri anime about a girl band... with dire animation conditions so it's currently stuck on episode 10 with the last two episodes delayed indefinitely) is ever going to finish, but here’s some my first post reviewing the rest of what I watched.
Delicious in Dungeon continued to kill it with the second half of the season, kicking into high gear and introducing cranky catgirls, but you can see my general thoughts on the show here.
Train to the End of the World
I love bizarre anime, especially bizarre anime starring loveable weird girls, and Train absolutely delivers.
A teenage girl named Yoka is bullied by a slimy businessman into pushing a button that activates the 7G cellular network across Japan, but said network warps and changes Japan completely, having bizarre effects on the citizens. For example, all the adults in Yoka's hometown have been transformed into animals and are starting to act like animals.
Shizuru is Yoka's best friend, and she said some seriously nasty things to Yoka before her friend left town. Yoka's been missing ever since the 7G incident and Shizuru is desperate to find her and apologize. So when she sees a picture showing Yoka in Ikebukuro, she decides to drive a train to find her, and her friends Reimi, Akira, Nadeshiko, and also her dog come along. As they travel across the warped Japan, they face many weird encounters and obstacles.
Train to the End of the World is greatly entertaining, as we see the girls encounter nihiists with mushrooms growing out of their heads, screaming goatmen that ram into the train and even zombies on their journey. The dialogue is snappy, and the girls all have a fun personalities. As a lover of girls doing silly violence, I also adored how everyone besides Akira (who is the smart one) has ridiculous combat skills, with Shizuru having her own form of martial art, Reimi being physically unstoppable when she's mad, and Nadeshiko might come off as the ladylike bow and error wielder...but actually she also can beat the shit out of people with said bow as a blunt object. It's fun to watch them go wild.
An example of how ridiculous the show can get is the encounter with the zombies--the absolutely bizarre logic is that since zombies are supposed to be dead to all sensation, arousal will make them blow up. Instead of the girls acting sexy to arouse them like most anime would do, they just say dirty words, and Akira recites a whole paragraph from Lady Chatterley's Lover that she apparently memorized, and they sing a hilariously bawdy folk song. This episode DOES contain the show's biggest moment of sexualizing the teenage girls though- a hyper detailed panty shot that was super jarring considering the show avoided fanservice before then.
And the next episode had Nadeshiko forced to don a somewhat skimpy outfit. Those are the only two instances of fanservice, but that episode also had a joke where this character in this children's cartoon come to life's entire gimmick was that she was suicidal. It was probably meant to be "lol look how inappropriate this would be for children" but it still felt fairly mean spirited at times.
Despite those hiccups to watch out for, the anime works because it never forgets it's core theme or friendship--the relationships between the girls are developed at a good pace, and Shizuru's guilt over what she did to Yoka is explored well too. It's not just a ridiculous anime, it has a heart too. So if an anime where a girl punches a bear in the face and arms herself with vegetables appeals to you…check it out!
Tonari No Yokai-san
Tonari no Yokai-san takes place in a world where yokai have integrated into human society. The central characters are Buchio, a cat who became a nekomata after living to twenty, and Jiro, a crow tengu who is close friends with a little girl he calls Mu-chan.
This is a very sweet, gentle series that has some heartwrenching and dark undertones occasionally. Mu’s father has been lost to an eerie void, and a lot of the stories focus on grief. The immediate comparison tone and content-wise is Natsume’s Book of Friends, but it distinguishes itself by presenting a world where yokai are very much part of society, to the point where they have to do paperwork and pay taxes. (There was also a confirmation that one character is bisexual when his backstory involves dating a guy yokai, so that was nice, especially since he's currently in a relationship with a car yokai that's probably meant to be romantic? Yes I said car yokai it is his car.)
There’s also some sci-fi elements mixed in with alternate timelines and what not. I think these elements could be integrated more smoothly, but they are pretty novel. It’s a really solid series.
I do love stories about yokai and I thought it was enjoyable and touching, but it didn’t rock my world the way I wanted it to…it might be that it followed too many characters at once so I couldn’t dig into any of them the way I really wanted to. Still, it’s a sweet, tender and pleasant watch, I definitely rec it.

So I'm rewashing Arcane season 1 before going through season 2, and I want to point out and explore some questions that don't excuse the characters actions, but might reveal their logic. I also want to explore who is to blame for everything wrong. I have seen clips and spoilers for season 2, act 1 and 2, but i am holding off on seeing act 3 spoilers until I actually watch it. It means I can't doomscroll Tumblr until after I catch up tomorrow.
I definitely won't be right, and I'm not psychologist, but i just want to explore.
Season 1
Episode 1
Starting off with the beginning, Vi and Powder see their dead parents and all the violence the enforcers inflicted. Powder comforts Vi over her distress, but outside of Vander taking them away, we don't see Powder get comfort over the same loss. Season 2 gives more information on Powders relationship with her parents, but we are not talking about that now.
Milo takes a lot of flack from the others. I assume out of the four, he is the second youngest and doesn't have as much physical strength as Vi or Clagger. He tries to be stealthy when Vi brute forces her way through a door, and it looks like Vi takes her frustrations out on him instead of directing it at Powder. He is insecure about his skills and Vander has to reassure him later. I think Vi is part of the reason he is insecure because she takes her anger out on him.
The crystals that blow up the penthouse is the only reason the group run through sewers and into the group of guys resulting in a fist fight. I do believe if they never blew up the balcony and got chased, there would not have been a reason to go through the alley. I am curious if Silco would have still found the guy and made an offer later on if there was never the altercation.
Ekko and his tip: Ekko mention Jayce buying stuff only kept for display, and i think it is implied to be magic/arcane relics. Benzo is smart, so i don't think he would sell the crystals seeing how volatile they are with just sitting in the open. It's too dangerous for both pilties and those from Zaun to have access to buy or steal. This leads me to one firm belief, everything that happens is Jayce's fault. The arcane are seen as contraband from what I can tell, and who gave it to him?
Without the crystals, the penthouse wouldn't have blown up, th kids probably wouldn't have been caught, enforcers wouldn't have gone to the lanes, Marcus probably wouldn't have met with Silco, and Silco's timeline wouldn't have changed. Who knows what this change would have done, but it definitely would have been different.
Episode 2
If Jayce had something he wasn't supposed to, even if he trusted Caitlyn, her mother is on the council and she has to have some rules she doesn't break. Why were the crystals sitting in the open and not secured away? Or even hidden? I'm in college and room checks are a thing, as a student they probably checked his studies for any restricted research.
In his memory, the arcane crystals he sees/is given looks a lot smaller than what he was holding and uses in the future. He knew the strength of something so small, why did he try studying with something bigger and riskier.
Heimendinger mentions how the arcane can't be controlled, so i am curious if it is taught at all, or if Jayce had his interest only on a past experience.
I do wonder if Marcus intentionally went too far with hunting the people. What violence was done is just instigation with the adults.
Mel is the richest person in Piltover and later we see corruption with some of the council, and i think she has corruption. She offers child's toy to a counselor and claims it is a difficult puzzle. She is a tactile thinker and as well later learn her backstory, I think she runs Piltover in what she believes is the opposite, but also better way than where she is from. Little violence is better than war, and she picks and chooses her actions and what she believes to be the right course to better Piltover. I am curious as to what she believes about Zaun before Silco's takeover later in the season.
Heimerdinger might be the only non corrupt counselor and has focus on education and helping the minds of the youth, though his focus is still on Piltover and being part of the council, his experiments and work takes a hack burner. I don't know if he is a professor or just a Dean of the school Jayce studies in, but he is out of touch with the people, and Jayce takes advantage of this later on.
Silco is charismatic and has some true facts. "There's a monster in us all." It depends on if it is fed or starved. He is good at feeding the monsters.
Mel and heimerdinger are noticeably silent about sending more enforcers to Zaun and enacting violence compared to other councelors. Kiramman wasn't even there, but I do wonder if she would have stayed silent too. Bolbok's comment was interesting as he already seen is race nearly wiped out, and there is no proof that the kids took anything dangerous. Jayce doesn't mention it which is also suspicious.
How cruel is Jayce for about to kill himself in the middle of the scholars district for all of the people to see in the morning.
Nobody really talks about it from what I have seen, but Victor is the instigator in Jayce building hextech. Yes, he saved Jayce, but look at the damage he causes later on. Was it really worth it? Stopping Jayce was enough, why did you have to risk more by breaking into get his research.
Episode 3
Did Marcus tell Silco where to go? Or was Silco following them from the shadows? Why didn't he go to the last drop first? He could have killed the kids first, then make Vander suffer.
Poor Ekko. He watched his father figure get brutally murdered, probably saw the enforcers get murdered too. Why did Vi leave him alone. She saw her parents dead body, she probably could imagine seeing them be murdered. What made her think leaving him alone with a corpse was a good idea and not taking him with her to the Last Drop. Her asking Ekko where they took Vander means she assumed he followed, and he probably did. Where was his mental state?
I think Silco still cares for Vander deep down. He probably tried to preserve the Vander he remembered for the dream they both once shared. I wonder if he is under the idea that he needs to kill what came of Vander and took his will to fight.
Mel pulls strings and get others to do what she sees as necessary and important to the benefit or the people. It's why she helps Jayce so often.
This is the second episode in which Vi doesn't comfort or recognize that Powder may be grieving. Claggwr and Milo comfort Vi, but Powder isn't really comforted, just left abandoned. The only thing she really does is promise to come back and give her something to hold onto. She comforted Ekko, then left him abandoned too. Vi is a shitty sister for what she did to both of them. Even if she is trying to protect them, leaving them alone after either watching or hearing what happened to Vander and Benzo, shame on her.
Milo's hesitation before trying to pick the link shows how Vi's words and actions did affect him. Vander has to reassure him of his abilities.
Also, this random tattooed man is so weak for someone who looks so strong. One punch is usually all it takes to knock him out. All that training and muscle just goes to waste in a single hit.
Powder had good intentions and was in a vulnerable state when abandoned. If we are going in order of explosions they show, I think if Powder had one less crystal, Clagger and Milo's might not have died. That could also just be my wishful thinking because they deserved more.
Do you think Marcus realized just how big of a mistake he made and ran as fast as he could when he saw the explosion? Did he make it in time to see Vanders death?
Vi didn't have someone to comfort her in this scene. Powder is suspected to be there, and she might believe Powder is dead, but that doesn't really matter. The 3 she knew were there are dead, and there isn't someone to comfort her. I don't think she has ever comforted someone over loss outside of the one hug she gave Ekko before disappearing. The one time Powder is seen to reach out for comfort about loss and failing when she wanted to help, Vi blames and attacks her. This lack of comfort in the way she was in the past is the reason I belive she abandons Powder even though she has no reason to believe Silco is dead.
I think it is revealed later in season 2, but it is interesting the interaction Powder has with Silco. He was going to kill her, but he voice sounds nothing to her, and I think her reaction reminded Silco of his younger self and is why he let's her live when he intended to kill her and the others from the start.
Episode 4
Heimerdingers comment on his friends whose name I don't know how to type sounds like Heimerding took notes on the teaching method and stepped back from inventing to allow students to shine. I wonder if it was another way to preserve the guys memory.
The intro with the Heimerdinger statue looks conniving and an opposite t who he truly is.
Kirmman trying to cover and the young girl fauning over Jayce is kind of funny especially when he doesn't care for either.
I wonder if there are magnets in the Firelight's shoes so they can do the fall motion without actually falling. They should have shot a barrel and threw a march instead of going down and getting killed.
I haven't said it yet, but the art style is so beautiful.
Do you think Ekko was dating or at least crushing on the pink haired Firelight, or did he see the same thing as Jinx and felt like he lost Vi all over again and risked nearly getting killed because of the renewed grief.
Jayce really didn't warn Heimerdinger what he was about to do and terrified the 300 year old man. Shame on him. Shame on him for almost killing the baby, too.
Heimerdinger is right, but unfortunately his concept of time is off co.pared to the lives of others. If he said a few years, then Jayce and Victor might have been more willing to listen, but I doubt Victor really would have waited.
Caitlyn's kind of dumb. She jumped in an area without a means of getting back up, or knowing if it was really safe.
Something else I haven't said is how banger the music is. In high school, I wanted to perform a color guard routine to a couple of songs. A shame I couldn't with a busted foot and no real creative freedom.
Silco pretending he can't do his own eye shots to prove he trusts Jinx with something sensitive is so kind and fatherly of him. Also, he didn't hesitate in the past about doing it, but i think he added shimmer to the shot and not really can't do it on his own.
Mel's control over Piltover is fascinating and is just as persuasive as Silco, only she uses it to keep some of the less honest counselors in line and protect Piltover from the war she came from.
I'm so proud of Jinx finally getting her inventions to work, but she does need to look into less destructive measures. She shot at people on her side and couldn't take out two important individuals to the Firelight's.
I've watched season 1 of arcane no lss than 5 times before season 2 released even a teaser, and for some reason, I never saw Jayce make his progress speech. Also, if your pet is afraid of an individual, I would be more concerned about what they are capable of, Heimerdinger.
Jayce, really didn't learn his lesson about leaving hextech/hexcores just laying around in the open where they could be stolen.
Caitlyn called for everyone to run and get out, but didn't even run herself. Girl, think through your actuons.actions.
Jayce is learning about the corruption of the counselor. Mel has chosen to give him more access to learning the corruption, and even joining himself. Heimerdinger knows something but held back.
Where is Jinx's hideout/workstation? It looks underground, and it it is big enough to launch explosives without worry. It's pretty cool.
Episode 5
Grayson deserved so much more. She wasn't corrupt, but had to bend the rules to keep the peace as much as possible. She could have taught Caitlyn so much. I wonder if Mel gave her more freedom to keep peace.
Was it love at first sight for Vi and Caitlyn or was it the first few minutes in the undercity that sold their unhealthy relationship? Vi, don't you know what a toxic relationship looks like? Caitlyn, you have always held some kind of position of power. Did your parents not teach you about healthy relationships?
Silco wants the nation of Zaun, but still calls himself a citizen.
Victor doesn't have time, but won't admit he needs the assistance of hextech, instead claims it is other people. The arcane calls for a sacrifice, and Victor didn't even hesitate.
Marcus gave a warning for Jayce to not rock the boat of the counselors, he doesn't seem to be worried about Silco and his dealings with topside when talking about the shipments. Just the shift in how the counselors will act.
Why was clagor made tiny, but Milo's lifesize? Jinx never had a hint of her trauma healed. Just used in Silco's favor.
How did Caitly catch up to Vi? She doesn't know the undercity.
Mel revealing the corruption and how she carefully controls it to Jayce is both smart and stupid. Jayce is dumb. He will not use that information wisely.
Jinx, what did affect crow ever do to you? Who did you think of? I don't really think it was the Firelights.
Caitlyn needs to watch what she says. This isn't her home, and very few are lenient with comments.
Mel is doing all of the heavy lifting, Jayce needs to step up. Poor Heimerdinger, I am starting to believe he doesn't know what his fellow counselors actually do.
Madam went from trying to seduce Clagger to being Vi's aunt. Vi also pimped out Caitlyn. I wonder how far Caitlyn went with the woman. And how she managed to leave after Vi abandoned her. Interestingly enough, it is the pilties who are committing unsavory acts in this scene and the one with Jayce. Those in the undercity are not shown doing anything, but Caitlyn watches what a couple are doing in the bubbles like a creep.
I don't think the people who used magic/arcane in the past were corrupt like Heimerdinger explained in earlier episodes. Based on what we see with Victor, and what seems to happen in season 2, it is the arcane that corrupts and takes over the minds of people. It absorbed and molded Victor's blood and called out to his mind.
Some scenes with Silco and Jinx are a little suspicious and gets close to the line of leave father-daughter relationship and leaning i to something more. This could just be i never had a great male role model and father who didn't want to connect with me like he did my brother, but that's what I am noticing. I know it never goes that way.
How does Sivika want to fight, but can't beat Vi, who has been locked up for years, without relying on Vi's me tal state being shocked at the news to really land a hit.
Silco does it to seem more approachable with others, but good on him for having a positive relationship with Makeup. Set good examples for the people of today and in the undercity.
Episode 6
This is clean water and near the surface, did it reach further into the undercity when Victor was young, or did it take building a filtration system for that to happen.
Heimerdinger contemplate the death of his friends, but he didn't say something I think he wanted to. That is the isolation immortality brings when everyone you care about will die long before you. Decades pass quickly for him, and so do the lives of his friends. He keeps moving forward, but he surely feels alone deep down.
Let's go with the headcannons the community has and Jayce talking about his first love Victor and his inevitable death to the physical relationship and love of Mel. Shame he said brother. I think a lot of people forgot that line. To be fair, my fiction class read my story, presumably closely, and completely missed the sentence explaining one character is 1000 years older than another.
Vi is a butch lesbian mess up and i can't believe Caitlyn let an injured person, under her watch, jump down and get more beat up. I saw someone else talk about how human and non human the characters are. I think they used uncanny valley as an analogy.
Silco, I know you needed to talk with Marcus and using his daughter makes sense. However, why bring this guy who apparently is learning to read while riding a tiny rocking horse. Silco can get away with being up there, but this guy should have been left in the kitchen away from her.
Victor is messing with plants and the arcane. I think he is the one who brought it the chance to fuck with nature, and Ekko's tree in season 2.
Caitlyn and Vi keep making statements that prove their relationship is toxic.
Heimerdinger can see that Victor is contaminated with the hexcore, but he seems to not realize what he needs to put into words for others to understand his worries. Because he is not in the know of the other councelors dealings, he has lost the support he once had, and Jayce took advantage of it.
Marcus is trying to warn Jayce still, but he needs to either come clean, or keep his mouth shut. He is about to overstep on both sides.
Jayce did Heimerdinger dirty. Jayce also put Mel in a position she was forced to agree. Because of her, it moved the others to agree.
People have done video essays on Silco and his tantrum, and i recommend to watch them. They do more than I could about his me tal state and what gies through his head.
Poor Sevika. She should have know what she was doing was stupid. Jinx is mostly holding on by a thread.
Jinx losing her mind and hearing voices was artistically beautiful
Episode 7
I love how this episode starts with a music video.
Something I have seen online is about Ekko is him missing from part of season 2, but the exact same thing happens in season 1. He is there in act 1, we don't know it at the time, so technically he is missing from act 2, and shows up again in act 3.
Ekko has a slightly different design compared to his childhood. As a kid, you could see the hair around the side of his head by the ears is dark brown or black. While the rest is white/platinum blond. I wonder if he does it, or if it like an inverted birthmark that made those spots grow black. While shaved, it seems shaved back further than the spots that had the dark hair.
How did Jayce become defacto head of the council? I thought Mel was the head. If Heimerdinger was the original head, because he had been there the longest, then Jayce shouldn't have become head. Whoever had been there loanger should have become the next leader.
Vi really didn't give a shit about what happened to Ekko. I wish we knew what really happened to Ekko after Vi ditched him. He gives a vague excuse but how long was he alone, hiding from Silco and on the run before he found the tree and made a home there. And just for my own e tertainment, what is Scar's backstory?
Jayce completely forgot Victor was from the undercity. He holds a lot of discriminative opinions about the undercity, and i don't know if they were enhanced after the theft, or if it was always there and we didn't see it until now.
Ekko is trying and good for him.
Mel is falling back on her past. She is looking for a defense, not war, but she does expect for war to be brought to Piltover.
Victor is right. They are not soldiers. Jayce forgot that when he spoke with Vi later on.
I love that Heimerdinger is sneaking across the river. I think this is the most crime he has ever done because he is not on the council anymore. Screw Jayce, I want his adventures.
I find it hard to believe people from the undercity are still not protesting on the bridge at this time.
I'm starting to believe The enforcers with Marcus are not really human.
Vi really called for Caitlyn instead of Ekko. This reinforces my belief that Vi is a shifty person. Ekko should have been her first thought. Why would Vi assume the enforcers would attack Caitlyn when Ekko is the one seen as a threat?
The callback to episode one and Jinx huming the song again.
His daughter didn't deserve this but Marcus definitely did.
Ekko is such a badass i love it. Where did the nickname Boy Savior come from. It happened during the time jump. And he lost the nickname Little Man.
There is a reference to a crow/raven behind the Little Powder memory. Did Jinx shoot the bird because reminded her of the past?
I can kind of see Vi thinking Ekko is dead and still running off to the council, but it should be implied that Jinx was killed too in the explosion. It isn't what happened, and she later knows Jinx survived, so why not assume Wkko survived too. She doesn't even go to the Firelights to let them know of the supposed death of Ekko. She literally said fuck it to everything Ekko worked for over these years.
Episode 8
The beginning scene is interesting, but also had to be traumatizing to see a girl Mel's age be decapitated.
When did Jinx steal the gem? Or did Ekko keep it with him and toss an empty container to Vi and Caitlyn? He said he would show the council, and i wouldn't blame him for still not trusting Caitlyn and being weary of Vi, but it also implies he was fully ready to kill Jinx and didn't know he would hesitate.
Jayce is weak. He shouldn't have gone to the bridge if he hasn't ever seen death in such a way. Mel should have prepared him at the least
"Sometimes death is a mercy." How many years did it take the doctor to understand and accept that? Good on him for saving Silco from more unnecessary stress with Jinx being hurt.
Fin needs to wear his jacket right, or have something to keep it from slipping off him. I feel like it would be easier to steal it from him like this. How many times has he lost it and just pretends it didn't happen?
Ambessa is hot. I will say that.
Poor Heimerdinger. He can't help the adults, he know that parents are untrusting, so he can't help the children. I can't wait until season 2 because i know they have better interactions. Ekko knows him, and I bet as a kid, he looked up to him for potential in his engineering.
Ambassador really stood up without Jayce giving consent to seeing her nudes. The creators didn't show him blushing, just looking away. He knows that is Mel's mother, and he slept with Mel.
Vi is going by undercity laws and customs, but she is with piltover council. He puked at death, then wanted more bloodshed which he can't even stand to see.
Why doesn't the council want to let the undercity become it's own nation? What is the benefit of people who you don't care about being called your people. I would argue civil war is worse than war against 2 different nations/cities.
Victorost the plot with the hexcore and should have talked more with Jayce about what he was doing. He doesn't want to create weapons, but he is turning his body into what could be used as a weapon. His actions killed Sky. Then the hexcre had the audacity to burp after its meal.
This is not my orignial idea, but some of it is my original words.
Canon Butch Lesbian Vi and headcanon bi disaster Jayce. Alone, they are fuck ups. But with their powers combines, and the help of hextech weapons, they are still 2 fuckups who can't do shit right.
The people in the suits, are they children too? And is it their job every shift to sit in them in case of an attack, or are they in the equivalent of a cryo pod until the putton is pushed and they are awoken and flooded with shimmer for the fight.
I think Kayce had 2 head on shots, and one of them was a kid. They didn't even die from it. It just numb them so they fell. The fall is what killed them.
What was the choice in deciding only women would be seen naked in showers?continuing with the show, specifically Caitlyn. She turned one handle which implies she had the water set to scalding and didn't react to it. She should be red with blisters trying to form from that. It implies their water temperatures are weak
Episode 9
Jayce really panicking about one direct kill and refusing to listen to Vi when she tells him the truth. That kid did know what he signed up for. His mother is pretty shifty for having him work down there and knowing the dangers.
How did Jinx find Caitlyn's home? They do not explore or inform us about this. Jinx was recovering when Vi went there and Marcus probably wasn't giving away information on where council members live.
The core killed Sky, and Victor can't bring himself to destroy it. It has control on him and he refuses to accept that.
Mel found out her mom stood up from the bath in front of Jayce and got pissed. On a more serious note, her brother doesn't get a name and Mel was disowned. Ambessa tries to be caring, but it is hard to believe that is what she means. Who are they talking about. It is easier to prepare for an attack if you know who it is.
The parallel between Jayce and Victor in their suicide attempt. However. Jayce was going to make his death everyone else's problem, and Victor was going to be kind to other and not show the city his mangled corpse. Jayce is outwardly egotistical, Victor has more internal desires and stays out of the spotlight with his actions.
Silco did believe he would die. He truly thought he lost Sevika's loyalty. But he is playing it off pretty well.
If Ekko made it to the council, I think jayce would have been more willing to arrest Silco instead of trying to get Jinx. Maybe there could have been peace in the undercity. I don't think Jayce really told them truth about giving Silco his nation of Zaun.
Ekko mentioned his life, and the other firelights, depended on it to create the home they have. I am more curious now if Ekko has always been hunted because he is a remnant of Vander's leadership. It's assumed that is why he took Vander hostage and knew the kids would come. And he was going to kill Powder. Maybe Silco realized he couldn't do the same thing with Ekko and he was a risk to losing Jinx so he was hunted down. That would explain partly why it is so secured, and it also helps prevent shimmer from being brought to the people trying to heal.
Did Vander say those words to Vi, or was that what she thought he would say. It's u fair her visions are not the same as Jinx.
Why did Vi thinking Caitlyn was under the little tray and Jinx could carry her with ease. Even with the gauntlets.
You know what is a shame? Jinx is so convinced that Powder can't exist at the same time as Powder, and that is Silco's fault. He didn't do something to help her. And insisted that Powder had to die and Vi is lying.
Even in death, Milo is beaten down. I don't blame Jinx, but still, she does it because of Vi and how she saw him treated and how she internalized all the name calling as him doing it.
Jinx's eyes are cloudy and a different color than normal. I think that is the sign she was getting too lost in her head, and outside voices just made it all worse.
Vi's refusal to believe she changed, even if she had a constant routine in prison, is frustrating. Nobody stays the same. She got the shit beaten out of her constantly and was isolated from the outside. She only beat the one innmate because she knew he was working for Silco and had beaten him before.
Ekko looks so happy talking to Heimerdinger, and he is listening thoughtfully to his ideas. That is so sweet. And the music is so sad.
How did Mel not die if she was pretty much the direct line of fire?
This is my conclusion on season 1. When I wake up and take care of business, I will sit down and watch season 2 and add my thoughts on that in a second post. While I doubt people will see this, or read the whole thing, I does feel nice to share with people who might care too.
I still believe this is all Jayce's fault. My reasonings will be more in the season 2 post than this one, but i need sleep

rockstar!dad eddie is definitely not immune to the claims that dads baby the pets that they didn’t want in the first place .. the girls begged & begged the two of you for a dog and eddie was probably vehemently against it because all of you travel too much or he knew the two of you were gonna be stuck caring for it till the girls actually just showed up one day with one & now that’s his best friend for life
yes. just yes. so fun fact, i used to be a foster mum for dogs so i am definitely breed bias. idk if you know the actor joe manganiello but he's married to sofia vergara (gloria from modern family) and he is this huuuge man but has this tiny chihuahua he dresses up and insists on taking everywhere. i love that for him and eddie.
anyway i dedicate this one to my favourite foster child marnie who i got have for six months! it was her birthday the other day and she is finally living her best life 🫶
ps: if you want your parents to get you a dog, try what the daughters do. this is exactly how i got my dogs when i was younger lol.
there's something about marnie (rockstar eddie munson x reader) ficlet / fluff / smut
you can see all rockstar eddie x reader stories and lore at #enam3ls rockstar eddie or the masterlist! and check out my new series love, lola
'Dad, I want a dog.' Eddie is certain that is the only thing his daughters have said to him in the last two years. All of them are teenagers, all of them are hormonal, all of them are getting on his nerves, all of them refuse to speak to him... unless it's to ask that one question. Sloane was now eighteen and in a constant panicked frenzy over finals. Iris was sixteen and was convinced she was an adult. Maeve was fourteen and at the peak of puberty and peak of being a pain in the ass.
Personally, Eddie had felt his reasoning on refusing their pleas for a dog had been very fair. Although he was not used to being bad cop and he didn't like it. You were always the firm parent and he was a soft touch who was wrapped round the fingers of his girls - you included. On multiple occasions he had given his daughters his reasons.
Now the girls were all teenagers, Eddie was finally beginning to start touring with Corroded Coffin again. Something he chose to stop doing once the kids had been born.
Even though you mostly worked from home, sometimes you did have to go away for work. He didn't want you to be left with the responsibility of the dog all the time whilst the girls were at school.
Within the next five years, all of the kids would be out the house and at college, leaving the dog behind with you and Eddie. He had planned on using a child free house to his advantage and taking you away all the time.
Yet clearly, his reasons continued to go in one ear and out the other as tonight he was victim to a well coordinated attack. All three of the girls cornered him as Eddie sat watching a film. His protests ignored as Maeve snatched the remote and turned the TV over. Iris plugged in a laptop causing a PowerPoint presentation to appear on screen. Sloane stood next to the screen like a weather lady as she began her perfectly rehearsed argument. Those damn girls are trying to convert me, he thought.
Often at his own expense, Eddie realised all three of his children inherited the best of both you and him. Taking his street smarts and tactical logic and your academic skills and charm - it was a ruthless combination that he's certain if wielded incorrectly could be used for world domination. Once they'd finished, Eddie sat there gobsmacked as they filed out the room to go about their Saturday evenings. Sloane leaving him a printed copy of the presentation for him to as she described it, 'peruse at his own leisure.' Eddie scoffed at her sass, knowing Wayne would've whacked him round the head with a newspaper had he used a line like that when he was a teenager and probably now.
That night, Eddie lay on his bed flicking through the papers. It's not that he thought they were incapable of looking after a dog. They'd babysat Steve and Marissa's dogs plenty of times and were great. It was just that life would be changing constantly over the next few years and that made Eddie nervous. His fretting was interrupted by you bursting through the door and jumping on top of him. You ripped the papers from his hands, chucking them across the bedroom, before pinning his wrists above his head.
'Hey, what's this all about sweetheart?' he questioned, still slightly startled. But his question was quickly answered by your lips attacking his neck and bare chest.
'Empty house,' you grinned between nips and kisses, 'want you Eds.'
And who was Eddie Munson to refuse his wife?
All the questions that had been plaguing his tired brain all evening were long forgotten. The only thing on his mind was you. What else could he think about when the love of his life was between his legs, plump lips tight around his throbbing cock. You'd been together for twenty-five years now and still Eddie felt like a horny teenager around you. He was putty in your soft hands - literally in this case. Your hands cupped and played with his balls as his thick cock hit the back of your throat as he chased release. The way the bedside light caused your wide eyes that stared right into his soul to twinkle, made his pulse quicken. The light also caught the ring he'd slid onto your ring finger twenty years ago. Eddie couldn't believe this was really his life now.
'U-uh fuck, sweetheart...' he groaned, 'Bout to cum baby.'
You could feel his balls start to tighten in and cock begin to twitch - he was seconds away from cumming. So you pulled your mouth away and retracted your touch.
'AGH! What the fuck,' he whelped.
You looked your husband right in the eyes. Eddie's big chocolate eyes, wider than ever in shock at the loss of touch. Letting him know you meant business, your face fell deadpan and nails dug into his hairy thighs.
'You're getting them a dog, Edward.'
He spluttered in disbelief, hands waving around aimlessly. 'WHAT! I cannot - you really doing this to me right now?'
'Yes,' you smirked, 'and you'll never cum again if you don't do it.'
Eddie knew you weren't lying so that's why he finds himself two weeks later stood in the dog rescue shelter. He couldn't deny it made him happy seeing the joy on his girls faces when he told them the news. His only condition which you'd also agreed upon was that the dog needed to be a rescue. The charity had thoroughly vetted you all and checked the house. Eddie couldn't believe he was just allowed to pop out as many kids as he wanted without approval and yet he had to go through so much to be allowed a dog.
Shuffling along behind the rest of you, he peered into each occupied space, reading the little biographies of each dog. Eddie had always seen himself as more of a cat person. Cats were weird and a little spooky, something he could relate to. Plus, he had happy memories feeding the strays at the trailer park growing up. Today, he'd expected to simply be the chauffeur and bank, letting the girls choose their new friend.
Then his feet ground to a halt as he caught sight of a little presence in a cage he'd thought was empty. There in the corner was a tiny pile of dark fuzz, brown eyes blinking back at him expectantly. The little creature looked as if someone had drew a scribble and stuck a pair of googly eyes on it. Eddie approached the cage and the dog followed his move, coming closer towards him. It was a little dog of a thing, little legs sticking out of scraggily fur in varying shades of black and grey. The dog could've been mistaken for the animalistic form of a wise oracle from a game of D&D.
'This one,' Eddie called out, surprising you and your daughters. You all double backed, not having noticed how far behind Eddie even was. Your gaze followed to what his finger pointed at. Instantly your heart melted.
'It's this one. We're getting this one,' he insisted again. Iris squinted at the paper attached to the cage as she read it aloud to you all.
'My name is Marnie. I look older but I'm only two. Please take a chance on me, I'm a quirky girl but full of love.'
You let out a little sniff, your hand finding Eddie's to squeeze it. Immediately you could recognise exactly why he'd find her, she was a tiny dog version of your husband. It was meant to be.
'Okay, Dad's word is final. Marnie is the one!' You exclaimed. Eddie's face lit up with glee, heart full that without him explaining it, you just knew why she was special.
'Thank you sweetheart,' he mouthed silently.
'Are you sure Dad? Did you not want something a bit bigger?' Sloane questioned.
'She kind of looks like an ancient wizard...' Maeve remarked, bending down with her hand out, her fingers immediately being licked thoroughly through the metal bars.
'I'm sure. She's perfect,' Eddie grinned.
Marnie Munson was inseparable from Eddie. All of his previous concerns went straight out the window the moment he saw her. She fit perfectly into your lives. Completely unbothered by travelling or loud music, Marnie became an honorary roadie for Corroded Coffin. Eddie had her perfectly accessorised, frequently returning home from the shops with a new purchase for her. Matching him perfectly, she wore a studded pink collar and a pink and black bandana. And you're still clueless as to where he found it but in the winter Marnie was kept warm by a knitted Metallica Christmas jumper. Utterly spoilt rotten like all the women in Eddie's life. Clearly, Eddie's title of girl dad was not limited to human daughters.
ps: i don't know if these books were only in the uk and new zealand but anyway this is how i picture marnie

//hi!! <3. putting this here for a starting place for the clan's story. using some of the beginning characters to create some new lore for the clan!
year 0 lineup:
sootstar: a masked grey tabby tom with green eyes, 42 moons old. sootstar is the kit of guppypaw, and the brother of cinderscreech. from a young age, he's been told many stories of the lives of the clans, and through his adult life, he's helped his mother follow starclan's will to begin a new clan. he is a doting father to his two kits, fernpaw and dewpaw, and misses his mate rosymeadow horribly.
traits: righteous, great climber, lore keeper
echorain: a masked black bengal and white tom, 55 moons old. echorain was a kittypet before meeting guppypaw's group. he was one of the later entries of the group, and after recieving visions of pawprints leading to the tidepools, and starry cats swimming under the waves, he decided to join the clan under sootstar's leadership. he was made deputy as a result of his logical mind and fighting prowess, and vows to work with sootstar to enforce the warrior code.
traits: responsible, unusually strong fighter
apprentice: dewpaw
scarletpoppy: a ginger, single-striped she-cat, 85 moons. scarletpoppy is the clan's medicine cat, a skilled healer and prophet. she was a nomadic, traveling healer in her youth, but as she got earlier, she sought a secure community to settle down in. she was the first cat to join guppypaw's blossoming clan, after receiving a vision of an injured warrior in need of her help. her friendship with guppypaw blossomed here, and she chose her friend's son, sootstar, to lead the clan. she's a wise influence, and is her leader's most trusted advisor.
traits: faithful, trustful advisor, connection to starclan
batheart: a white tom with dark-grey spots and blue eyes, 117 moons. batheart is an older tom, glad for a home to settle down. he's a faithful cat, and felt lost in his spirituality. he'd spent so long alone, wandering with no goals in life, which made him question whether there really is a purpose to living. when he met guppypaw and her developing clan, he realized that there really was a force, starclan, that had destined him to become a warrior in the new guppyclan. he's determined to prove his worth in this new group, and to achieve his true purpose in life.
traits: charistmatic, den builder, good hunter
carpglide: a golden, smokey she-cat with bronze eyes, 68 moons. carpglide is a headstrong, fiery, and ambitious warrior, willing to take risks if it means keeping her clan safe. she was part of a rather rough and tumble group of rogues in her youth, but was intrigued by the structure and community that came with being a warrior. she's become good friends with the cats in her clan, and wouldn't have it any other way.
traits: daring, trusted advisor
apprentice: fernpaw
cinderscreech: a dark-grey tabby warrior with hazel eyes, 42 moons. cinderscreech is sootstar's sibling, and they're rather brash. though they know they wouldn't be an effective leader, they find themselves endlessly jealous of their brother. cinderscreech knows they are abrasive and often unfriendly, but he can't help but wish he had the power and influence that their brother has.
traits: daring, good hunter
foxwhistle: a marbled, ginger tabby she-cat with gold eyes, 12 moons. foxwhistle was found as a kit, abandoned and alone on a sandbar. she was raised by the whole clan, and grew up among many wise warriors. as a result, she's rather intelligent and well spoken. many cats admire how much of a smart young cat she is, and believe she'll grow up to do great things.
traits: charismatic, good storyteller
dewpaw: a dark grey, smokey tom with pretty eyes, 6 moons. a little troublemaker, dewpaw is a rather immature young cat. he gives his mentor plenty of sass, and thinks that he could become a warrior right now with little trouble. he believes that since he's sootstar's son, he is obviously next in line to be leader. all of this big-headedness gets lots of laughter and head-shaking from the older warriors.
traits: childish, splashes in puddles, quick witted.
mentor: echorain
fernpaw: a black she-cat with a white splash on her chest, 6 moons. fernpaw is a much more reserved apprentice, much quieter than her brother, at least. she wants to make carpglide and her father proud, and is a dutiful worker. she is an avid daydreamer, though, and often needs to be shaken from her imagination to focus on work.
traits: oblivious, quick to help, careful listener
mentor: carpglide
guppypaw: a grey, smokey she-cat with yellow eyes, 125 moons. guppypaw was a mediator apprentice, well on her way to becoming a mediator. on her final assessment, a trip to mediate relations with another clan, a storm ravaged the beach, sweeping her far away. after a long journey, she became a loner. she eventually began seeing visions from starclan, destining her to establish a new clan. after many moons, she is so proud of her kits, her grandkits, and the cats they've met along the way that have formed her clan. she is honored to be guppyclan's namesake, and is happy to spend her retirement in her new home.
traits: nervous, good speaker, fast runner
i'll hooopefully try and update every few moons or so. ill try and draw some scenes from the clan too, just to practice drawing cats.
thanks for reading <3

I saw a post (that i now cant find curse former me's lack of organizational skills) talking about how they think that athena is purposly trying to get hera to think of zeus so the not cheating thing hits harder, which I think is neat, however!
I see your Athena is trying to get her to think of Zeus and raise you Athena is also trying to get her to think of other Heroes of the time. I'm thinking specifically of Hercules because he's the hero with the closest link to Hera and the Mets but I'm sure that other Greek Heroes could apply to the same checklist hair is lines are so many Heroes so many tales give me one good reason why yours should prevail. Hair is looking for something that will set Odysseus apart from the other Heroes, and so obviously Athena starts out with his biggest strength is mine but plenty of Heroes are smart so that's up unique even Hercules who's known for being the big strong guy had to use his mind to solve problems once or twice same problem with Odysseus's way with words. Quite a few myths involved either a hero or a god using clever wording to get the upper hand on their opponents. As for being funny, I mean don't get me wrong it's a great trait, but it's not exactly the stuff Legends are made of. which leaves a trait that the goddess of marriage and Families could really appreciate. He's never cheated on his wife. Now, given which version of the myth your talking about it could be argued that he did, but this is the Epic version of the story and Jay has made it clear that Odysseus is the world's biggest simp for his wife and therefore none of that mess matters. What does matter is that quite a few well-known Heroes are also known to have cheated on their wives something Hera hates as the goddess of marriage. Hercules managed to cheat on not one but two wives which is what ultimately led to his second wife killing him(at Heras not so subtle prompting), despite having been told that his life practically lay in Hera's hands I mean even his name was originally Heracles so like seriously dude did you really think you'd get away with that? Anyway, it's not just Herc who's done this tons of Heroes Have Cheated on their wives in Greek myths (and honestly it made wonders if an in Universe reason for that could be that because Zeus cheated on his wife a bunch of people thought I mean, the king of the Gods does it how bad can it be? Which is really just bad logic but that's a different rant. ), and I mean this is all taking place after the Trojan War which happened because Paris, a man who was already married to a nymph, decided it was totally chill to accept the bribe of getting to marry an already married woman. Which means that the idea of a hero who remains loyal to his wife after "12 long years" :P of not seeing her or however long it is after you got on Calypso's Island probably like 20 years or something since Telemacas is a young adult by the time Odysseus gets home, is a particularly refreshing concept to the goddess of marriage.
Tldr: Athena is the goddess of wisdom and as such I believe she's attacking this for multiple angles just by using the same words, to get her to think of both her husband and the other Heroes of the time.

wait hol' up i gotta hear those Bobo Thoughts. hes such a fascinating character and the way he was used was so all over the place (like straight up vanishing when it was Serious Episode Time lmao) but,, thats Rex's friend! weird uncle? Moral compass but pointing the wrong way?? Always had such mixed feelings about his writing
Bobo is like. The thing about Bobo is he's such a good fucking character potential. I said most of my thoughts in this reply so I don't really have much more to say besides Wow they really did just make the potential for a really interesting character and blew it for jokes about harassing women. There was so much THERE where he COULD be funny while still being a serious character - plenty of the time Rex is silly and goofy while still being a serious character.
Exposed imo is one of, if not the best Bobo episode for the simple fact that he was actually a funny comedy relief character while still being Bobo, actually. It didn't really dive into him as a character, but he did have some pretty good lines ("That cage was electromagnetically sealed" "I didn't say it was easy" got a chuckle out of me, as well as "Are you going to just stand there and talk or help me?" "Talk.")
But also in my rewrite of Bobo, he's...well, he trusts in Rex's abilities, and he knows at the end of the day he doesn't really have superpowers or healing like the kid, but he's way more concerned for him. He notices how Rex makes jokes when he's stressed and makes jokes with him, to help ease tensions and get Rex to crack a smile when things are tough. He sits with the kid and talks because he knows he's also an adult, but he knows he's easier for Rex to relate to than other soldiers at base. Even with as much as Holiday and Six love Rex and are there for them, they're still in positions of authority over him - Bobo, meanwhile, is another EVO, who knows he can talk to Rex about how much it sucks not to have people like them. I don't have the link on hand but I remember in @bambeptin's interview where the show creators mentioned how Bobo was like a weird uncle, and I think they should've played into that dynamic more. Bobo encouraging Rex to be reckless and sneak out and see what he can get away with when his parents and Providence aren't looking.
Also, the show just kind of...forgets that Bobo made Robobobo and I think that'd be fun to play with. Bobo surprising everyone with how smart he is, all the skills he picked up over his time doing crime on the streets that Rex doesn't remember/know about. He could've contributed to the team so much in S3 by being the guy who knows how to break into places without hurting or killing people (like Six and WK know), occasionally peeking at Holiday's work and pointing something out bc she's an overthinker (all the adults in the Providence Fam in S3 kind of are in their own ways) and he goes at things to try to find the easiest solution. Hell, even have jokes about him being surprisingly smart - have characters talk about something super complex and Bobo surprises everyone by understanding it. Have everyone getting ready to kick down a door and have Bobo say "And here I thought I was the animal" or some joke like that and pick the lock. Hell, have him try to open a door and see that it's unlocked while everyone's prepping to kick it in.
Have Bobo be just...a smart and logical guy and have that be the joke. He looks ridiculous, constantly makes jokes and acts dumb, but reminders that he IS smart can be funny, and him being cheeky can be funny! Hell, the show kind of hinted at potential but never went through but Bobo and Six having a rivalry bc they both think the other is bad for Rex at first (and have a history of clashing that we see in Promises Promises) could be VERY funny! Especially because it would pair Six's very blunt personality with Bobo's ridiculousness and refusal to act seriously. There's potential there but they just...went for easy jokes and it's a shame, because Bobo had so much potential to be great.
#generator rex#Also I need to write this fic sometime but I'm swamped irl#But I have a hc/fic idea that Bobo was the one who first got Rex to sneak out of Providence#With the intention of convincing the kid to fully run away. For both of them to get out of there bc he knew how bad Providence was for Rex#Trying to get in the kid's head when he knew that there were no cameras. It didn't end up working and they ended up being found but.#Can you imagine. How insane it would be if they had like a flashback filler episode to that#Where Bobo and Rex goofed off in public but also just. Talked. And Bobo was like 'Maybe Providence isn't as good as you think it is.'#And bonus if they had that episode in S3. Like. Man.#Also sorry for atting you Bamboo but I know it was your interview and want you to get credit for all the amazing information we found out#And also to remind people about that interview bc I look back at it sometimes and twirl my hair about the info you got

I think it’s 1. Hakuba is just like that and doesn’t know Conan is actually a teenager in the body of a child.
Yes actually! I agree. I put out three different options before just because I was rambling and trying to play devil's advocate with myself a bit, but I do actually think that Hakuba doesn't know Conan is actually a teen.
And now I'm gonna ramble some more to explain why I think that way, because I love Hakuba and I'm just gonna hyperfixate anyway so may as well type it all out.
So to start with, he doesn't know Conan is a shrunken teen, and that has nothing to do with his skill as a detective, the evidence just isn't in front of him. Hakuba doesn't know enough about Shinichi to start putting things together; even Hattori at least had met Shinichi once and had some circumstantial evidence before he started to get suspicious. Hakuba also doesn't have reason to believe that people can be de-aged, actually if anything his experience with Kid has reinforced in his mind that a teen or adult would not be able to pass as a child. Without having one of those angles to approach from it's hard to make the leap of logic required to recognize that Conan isn't just a smart 6 year old.
With that in mind if you look at his first appearance in Detective Conan (The Gathering of Great Detectives), he actually doesn't question or concern himself with Conan's presence from the start. Even Hattori (and yes, I'm going to keep using Hattori as a comparison here) had tried to keep Conan away from crime scenes and such at first, but Hakuba doesn't do that, and granted no one else in the Gathering of Great Detective's really does either. Hakuba sees this person that he believes to be an innocent child in what is clearly a trap for this group of detectives set by using Kid's name - and Hakuba knows it's a trap, this isn't Kid's style after all- so what does he do? He follows the child's plan. Because it's a good plan and the only grievance he has with it is that he'll have to get fake blood on his clothes.
He doesn't belittle Conan for his perceived age. He doesn't worry about him being traumatized despite expressing that he was glad Ran had been put to sleep so she didn't have to witness the cruelty of the plan. He doesn't question Conan's right to be there. And he doesn't try to protect Conan at all.
And if you were to ask me why that is...
I think there are actually a number of different factors behind it, but the most important one is that by the time we see Hakuba in Detective Conan Conan this 'child' has already shown himself capable of dealing with Kid. Sure, Conan didn't arrest Kid, but neither can anyone else, and list of people that can claim to have been able to stop Kid from stealing an item is relatively small, and without knowing Conan on a personal level Hakuba can understand that level of competence. He can respect him as a professional, and not look down on him aside from in the literal sense. Though, it probably also helps that in the two times Hakuba has seen Conan he wasn't doing the 'ah-le-le I'm just a dumb little kid' routine. Both times he actually showed his real intelligence, thought still a bit of a tree hidden in a forest of other detectives.
Well that's probably enough of that for now. TL;DR: Hakuba doesn't know Conan is a teen, but he respects him anyway because he'd respect anyone that could catch Kaito off guard.
#dcmk#hakuba saguru#I love him#I will just keep talking about him if someone encourages me#like seriously this was just analyzing based on the Gathering of Great Detective's#I also have oppinions on some of the stuff he did and said at the detective Koshien#and maybe if someone expresses interest I'll share those opinions#they just weren't really related to this specific topic.#after all this post is specifically just about Hakuba's perception of Conan#rambling#asks

Hey, hello fellow Frelma shipper! Can I ask what you like the most of the ship? If you want to answer of course. Anyway have a good night!
Canon Reasons not necessarily in order
This includes all of the series, films, books, etc that I can remember from the top of my head. Meaning, I have not watched/read all of them but plan to when possible!
WARNING: might be slightly repetitive because my writing skills do not always follow or translate the thinking process of my brain.
Their color combinations don’t make me wanna barf. It is very hard to get the complimentary colors of orange and blue together without them looking like the visual representation of nails on a chalkboard.
Smol x Tol. A height difference combination that rarely fails. Especially if their complimentary shapes also include short and curvy/plump with big and bulky/muscles.
Nerd-shaped Nerd x Jock-shaped Nerd
The Smart One (Logic) x The Other Smart One (Creativity). This is mostly applicable to the earlier late 60s-70s series before most of the later adaptations lower Fred’s intelligence to varying degrees. It can be generally agreed upon that Velma has a lot of book smarts and proven theories, while Fred leans more towards understanding engineering and mechanics (to an extent, seeing how his traps usually work out).
Snarky x Sweet. Honestly? Both have their moments.
Headcanon Reasons not necessarily in order
Warning: ranting involved.
Grumpy Cat x Golden Retriever energy.
“Excuse me , he asked for NO pickles.”
Gremlin Fighter x Giant Softie
“I connected the dots!” “You didn’t connect squat.” “I connected them!” I do not ship Ryan and Shane together, I just feel like this dialogue could fit Frelma.
Nerdy Loser Dork x “Dumb” Popular “Jock”/Girboss x Himbo/ Brains x Brawn. Explanation provided below. ⬇️
*DEEP BREATH*
I am not interested in watching HBOMax’s VELMA for a variety of reasons, including but not limited to:
1) Copying and Pasting the format for the Harley Quinn series, which is also a black comedy/satire with mindless violence, constant swearing, and inappropriate depictions of adult content (as you can probably tell, I do not like the premise of, nor will watch, that series either. If any of you do like either of those series, that is okay; go ahead and enjoy.)
2) The interpretation of the Scooby without the Scooby Gang’s personalities (Their adaptational races and social statuses are fine.) is superficial at best and insulting at worst.
That being said, from what little I heard about what happens in VELMA, there could have been a cute dynamic between Velma and Fred. Unfortunately, neither of the characters seemed very likable based on what the creators said and how the Scooby fandom reacted. This artist best portrayed what Velma and Fred’s chemistry COULD HAVE LOOKED LIKE in these videos:
youtube
youtube
Credits to Jamie De Jonge.
Do you see what we Frelmas could have had???
The Gunn live action films aren’t that much better frantically dodges bullets but there are more moments shown between Fred and Velma that despite some occasional bickering, Fred is wowed by Velma’s intelligence while Velma admires Fred’s confidence. I think as a younger kid, I was actually expecting them to end up together despite being a Fraphne shipper at the time because of their chemistry whenever they shared screentime.
Honestly? In the ending, the Fraphne kiss was a lot less satisfying to me than the moment when Fred steps down from the spotlight and directs it to Velma so she could finally get the credit and recognition she deserved in solving the mysteries and catching the villain.
I hope this was a mostly? coherent answer, @light-miracles ! Thanks for the question!!!

Sage wants to try Ghost's mask because she finds it very cool. But when she wears it, she doesn't think it suits her very well, she still likes to wear it and walk around.
No matter how quiet she is, when she gets bored she talks so much that others want to put tape over her mouth.
She is quite serious with others on a mission, but when she is with Ghost she gets distracted from looking at him, so it is not a good idea to send her on a mission with Ghost. (they will go anyway)
She sometimes likes to cook for others. Just tell her what you want to eat and she will make it.

BACKGROUND STORY
Sage was found with a note in front of the door of Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln's house, was abandoned when she was a newborn. The note said the baby's name was Yasmine and it was clear that she had been abandoned. It is unknown who her parents were or why they abandoned her. When Mrs. Lincoln opened the door, she was stunned to see Sage in a stroller. She didn't know whose baby this was so she decided to take care of her. Even though they had a 7 year old son, they didn't want to send Sage to an orphanage so they wanted to parent her. She had always been a smart kid because she was grateful to those who parented her. Until she became an adult, Mrs. Lincoln taught her about medicine and Mr. Lincoln taught her how to defend herself. When she turned 21, she joined the special forces and after a tough training she was able to become a sniper. Thanks to her sharp eyes and ability to hold her breath for a long time she became one of the most successful snipers, and at the same time, she became better with Throwing knives with her fast movements when she was under many enemies. She joined Task Force 141 in 2019 and now she is even an expert at being a translator.

Just finished Inside man on netflix. I was excited to watch it because I love mysteries and David Tennant, or rather I was excited to watch until I saw that it was by Steven Moffat. When I realised that I was interested but nervous. Moffat in my experience (and in the observations of others) is great at concepts and terrible at execution.
Inside Man was the same story - the concept a good man turns violent due to an untenable situation and ‘everyone can be a murderer it just takes a good reason and a bad day’ is interesting but the show itself hinges on an initial plot hole and ongoing ridiculous writing that has always been an issue
Spoilers below the cut
First the initial plot hole - the misunderstanding that sets the whole thing in motion is that Janice finds what she thinks is Ben’s CSEM on a USB. She then doesn’t believe Ben’s father when he tries to explain that it isn’t Ben’s but rather a troubled man from his church (or even the father’s himself as he tries to tell a more believable lie in lieu of the unbelievable truth.) However, Janice was handed that USB by Ben himself, its insane that a woman as clever as Janice (and she is clever the rest of the show - successfully manipulating her captors into making mistakes) would assume and then unshakeably believe that the teen boy who casually handed her a USB full of CSEM was aware that the “porn” on the usb was that kind of porn. It might have crossed her mind, but when she talked to the father there should have been more confusion, or she should have accepted the father’s believable lie that it was his USB and not his son’s. But no that would have left room for normal adult discussion, and would have halted the plot. So in order for the plot to start a very clever woman must be incredibly dumb for the 15 minutes it takes for her to find CSEM and then end up imprisoned in the cellar.
Second the ridiculous writing - it’s present in a couple of things - the fact that a freelance journalist has enough resources to fly from the UK to the US to do an interview that may not even pan out into an article - she could have done that via video call (as we unrealistically see the Grier and the Vicar doing at the end of the series) but that would have meant that would couldn’t have her prove her worth (read: low-morals) to the death row detective that she is trying to interview by being his person on the ground to solve one of his cases. Which is something that does nothing in the plot but impress upon us just how smart Grier is (and just how dumb the journalist can be).
However it is mainly present in the way that Grier himself works - he is another example of one of Moffat’s leading men that mysteriously have control over the world and people in it with no logical explanation. I can accept that a criminal who was also a professor of criminology can solve crimes from his prison cell. What is ridiculous is that he seems to have devotees scattered around the world ready to put his every whim into action. Do serial killers get fangirls - yes, would this character if he was real have fangirls - probably BUT he would not have the resources to be mastermind whole espionage ordeals from his cell - even with “special” access to a phone. It reminds me of doctor who under Moffat where the doctor could win battles just by saying he was the doctor the most uber-special man in the universe. Or Sherlock that totally jumped the shark until it became an utterly ridiculous show down of very special men with their very special brains (oh and their very special sisters.)
The show would have been much better is Grier had been a bit more realistic - solving crimes in his cell without a network of devotees and his very special grasp on things, and if the Journalist had been a bit smarter and used her investigator journalist skills to locate Janice’s flat herself for example.
All in all and impressive acting from the whole cast a decently interesting concept and terrible execution (but then it is a Moffat show)

Анфиса
Ада, несмотря на свой юный возраст, играла в школьной музыкальной группе на синтезаторе, поэтому оттачивала свое мастерство. (Ada, despite her young age, played in the school musical group on the synthesizer, so she honed her skills)
Она получила власть, что и не снилась ее отцу. Эдуард только участвовал в самодеятельности, а она с группой выступала в финале школьного музыкального конкурса. Однако социалистическое общество не было готово к хэви-металл. Ада просто опередила свое время. (She got the power that her father never dreamed of. Eduard only participated in amateur performances, she and her group performed in the finals of the school music competition. However, the socialist society was not ready for heavy metal. Ada was just ahead of her time)
А может ей не хватало поддержки близких? Анфиса приободряла мужа перед работой, ведь он давно заслужил повышение. (Or maybe she lacked the support of her family? Anfisa encouraged her husband before work, because he had long deserved a promotion)
Еще не хватало, чтобы его обогнал в карьере Илья. (It is impossible to allow Ilya to overtake him in his career)
Удача была на стороне Эдуарда: он стал хирургом. (Luck was on Eduard's side: he became a surgeon)
В этот прекрасный день вся семья собралась за столом, чтобы отпраздновать День рождения Давида. (On this beautiful day, the whole family gathered at the table to celebrate David's birthday)
Мальчик вырос юным гением и королем двора со стремлением к популярности и предпринимательству, а также с 51 500 баллами счастья. Он желал, чтобы его избранница обладала логикой, умела хорошо готовить, но не любила рисовать. (The boy grew up to be a young genius and the king of the court with a desire for popularity and entrepreneurship, as well as 51,500 happiness points. He wanted his chosen one to have logic, to be able to cook well, but did not like to draw)
(Meanwhile, Eduard's colleague tried to incite Eduard to cheat, saying why do you need a wife when I have an amazing woman for you. The colleague is clearly jealous of this happy family, so he is trying to destroy it. But Eduard politely declined the offer)
(Then the colleague turned his attention to David, suggesting to him: - Let's go for a walk on the rooftops! - What for? - What do you mean why? Seek adventure! Ada would be glad if David agreed and did not return, because then the whole room would become her own)
Но избавляться ей от брата не пришлось, поскольку родители сделали из гостиной комнату для Давида, а стол разместили на кухне. (But she did not have to get rid of her brother, because her parents made a room for David from the living room, and the table was placed in the kitchen)
На следующее утро после Дня рождения Давид проснулся с мыслью, что собаку ему, видно, не подарят никогда в жизни. Но он же теперь взрослый и может сам ее взять из приюта. (The next morning after his birthday, David woke up with the thought that he would probably never be given a dog in his life. But he is now an adult and can take her from the shelter himself)
Он выбрал маленького черного умного щенка по имени Максимиллиан, которого решил назвать Максом. (He chose a small black smart puppy named Maximillian, whom he decided to name Max)
акое же счастье иметь собаку! Давид ринулся домой прятать щенка, чтобы родители не заметили и не заставили вернуть его в приют. (What a blessing to have a dog! David rushed home to hide the puppy so that his parents would not notice and force him to return him to the shelter)
Поскольку Ада была очень вредной и могла наябедничать на него родителям, Давид решил с ней подружиться. Но Ада ни к кому, кроме мамы, не испытывает теплых чувств. (Since Ada was very harmful and could tell his parents about dog, David decided to make friends with her. But Ada does not have warm feelings for anyone except her mother)
Но когда дети ушли в школу, голодный щенок пробрался на кухню, где его обнаружила Анфиса. Хоть она и не ожидала прибавления в их семействе, но нового члена семьи приняла благодушно, накормив досыта. (But when the children left for school, the hungry puppy made his way to the kitchen, where Anfisa found him. Although she did not expect an addition to their family, she accepted the new member of the family complacently, feeding him)
Ада вернулась домой довольной с пятеркой в четверти и 200 симолеонами за участие в школьном ансамбле. (Ada returned home happy with an A in the quarter and 200 Simoleons for being in the school band)
Она очень хотела быть лучшей, превзойти брата, получать одни пятерки, поэтому всегда выполняла домашние задания. (She really wanted to be the best, to surpass her brother, to get straight A’s, so she always did her homework)
Но Давид не собирался уступать. Он был отличником и продолжал развивать свои навыки. (But David was not going to give in. He was an excellent student and continued to develop his skills)
А вот у Эдуарда появился страх, что Илья может занять его место хирурга, ведь во время операции Эдуарду стало плохо от голода и переутомления, а Илья с легкостью подменил его и закончил операцию. (But Eduard had a fear that Ilya could take his place as a surgeon, because during the operation Eduard became ill from hunger and overwork, and Ilya easily replaced him and completed the operation)

zarina had the biggest character development arc in obey me out of all verses tbqh.
all because: 1) she is in a position where she is literally at the bottom of the food chain. she came from the human world. she was AT THE TOP of the food chain, fought her way there, suffered her way through there, but got there. in devildom? in the celestial realm? she's like a dust particle before ancient powers. it hits her pride, but also slams her survival mindset: how can I survive and flourish? how can I protect my family from this??? 2) forced to accept that aside from humans, angels and demons are actually real. and witches too. which means that there are far more things to take into consideration when she lives on 3) her survival instincts kick in a bit too hard in the beginning because she has 0 information, and it means getting it at any means possible while making sure she won't die. 4) almost dying countless times because of some of the demons' inability to control their power, attempt to use their powers on her, or plains lower demons trying to get at her with pranks that could end in death if she wasn't smart/quick enough or she didn't have one of the brothers by her side 5) her masks don't work on demons like lucifer, diavolo, barbatos... it's hard; the fact that they see through her acting rubs her the wrong way. it was usually her being able to play her way out of any situation, but here it just doesn't fucking work. she needs to learn new techniques, be smarter, be quicker, be more adaptive. they force her to be less stubborn and learn flexibility 6) accepting magic because now it's an essential skill. she didn't want to learn magic at all because to her it felt like it goes against all of her hard work with working out, with studying, with military training, etc. however, she sees it's essential... and even... fun. and it's challenging 7) she had to ... forgive belphegor. for killing her. in the timeline she appeared in. she watched him, learned about him, but she'll never forget that. she'll NEVER forget that. but she forgave him. that's a massive fucking character development. it was the hardest thing for her to do. i mean, if she forgave other brothers for ALMOST killing her (aside from mammon), then she concluded it was logical to forgive him as well. logical. rational. yes. 8) understanding that in those 2 moments when she was 'supposed' to die, lilith's spirit actually protected her and saved her. meaning that if not for lilith, she would've died. twice. in the human world. thus, her accepting that she owes to lilith to ... understand the demons, the angels, and these news worlds. she owes it to her. 9) when she became a threat to 3 worlds and had to choose between stabbing herself or lucifer to sever the contract, she concludes that - yes - she doesn't want to die, but if it means protecting her family in the human realm and those people she came to care about, then she'd rather die herself. she's a human. but there are pillars of powers like lucifer who must live on to keep the balance. so, yes, stabbing herself was done out of 'i'm not as important in terms of power as thes people are, but also I have those I need to protect.' 10) luke got the best treatment right away because he reminded zarina of her youngest brother aleksey. but simeon? took a bit. she didn't trust his kind nature at all because she thought that angels are less trustworthy than demons due to how cynical she is, but... took year(s) to understand that he is genuine. she also apologized for her behavior because she's an adult and she must acknowledge her wrongdoings.
Zarina, altogether, remains the same: ambitious, confident, and adaptive. A survivor and fighter at heart. She has to learn how to be less judgemental, how to look at others in a new light, and be honest about her experiences with emotions. About how and why she behaves the way she does. How her past affected her. She needs to learn to trust and let them in, which she hadn't done since her team. Building relationships with others may take time, but it does develop. She's still selfish, but she is FORCED to learn to be more flexible. She is FORCED to break out of that ice. She is FORCED to face the changes.
#SORRY I HAD TO FUCKING SCREAM ROTUYBHOTREBYHTRY#THERE IS SO MUCH THERE I JUST URTYBRTY#listen there is a LOT of obey me stuff#zarina has to learn to be more flexible#she needs to cut out some of her judgement (it takes a while. a long ass fucking while)#esp with like... leviathan... she looks past his shut-in behaviors when she sees his kindness#she needs patience just as much as all demons and angels need#❄ ― RAMBLINGS & SCREAMS. ╱ discussions of life and the beautiful under the sun.

( Welcome to: Rin's meta post about Romana and the Doctor. This is primarily intended for people who are playing the Doctor, but aren't super familiar with Classic Who and/or Big Finish. Feel free to use it as a reference, and as always, you're welcome to ask me for extra information about anything here.
Now, I haven't listened to every single one of Romana's audios yet, so this post will be updated as I go on. I'll make a note of where I'm missing information, and will go back and edit later. I also haven't ready many of Romana's novels yet, so there will be no references to events from those.
There's a few hundred years of friendship to cover here, so it's going to get long. But here we go!
Romana met the Doctor when she was assigned to help him recover the pieces of the Key to Time, an extremely powerful cosmic keystone-type object that could be used to enforce universal balance. The Key was split into six pieces, that could disguise themselves as anything, scattered across all of time and space. They were given this mission by the White Guardian, who was a god-like figure who needed the Key to Time to keep the universe running smoothly, while his counterpart, the Black Guardian, also sought the Key to plunge the universe into chaos, though Romana initially believed that she had been sent on the mission by the Lord President of Gallifrey.
The Doctor was in his fourth incarnation when they met, while Romana was in her first (and had only recently graduated from the Academy - a young adult, by Time Lord standards, though she was already over 100 years old). K9 was also there, and he immediately got along very well with Romana, with them both being rather logical-minded.
The Doctor and Romana didn't hit it off immediately. The Doctor was annoyed that he'd had a companion thrust upon him, and doubly annoyed that it was a Time Lord like Romana. It was Romana's first time away from Gallifrey, and she was still deeply entrenched in the Gallifreyan way of seeing the universe, looking down at the Doctor for his poor grades in the Academy and generally acting a bit haughty.
However, Romana was also very naive and inexperienced, with 100% of her intelligence coming from book-smarts. While she could beat the Doctor on any exam, she had a distinct lack of common sense, and quickly came to respect the Doctor's skills, and while she remained very confident in her own abilities and would still call the Doctor out on his foolishness and irresponsibility, she also came to trust that if she got in over her head (which tended to happen... a lot), the Doctor would be there to bail her out.
As they travelled together, they became closer, eventually coming to consider each other friends.
(This is where Romana I's 4DAs would go. After I've listened to them, I'll either delete this, or add anything significant)
Eventually, they collected the last piece of the Key to Time. However, as they came to give it to the White Guardian, the Doctor realised that it wasn't the White Guardian at all, but the Black. They deconstructed the Key to Time, once again scattering the pieces, and added a randomiser to the TARDIS, travelling with no knowledge of their destination to make it more difficult for the Black Guardian to track them and take revenge.
In the aftermath of their last adventure with the Black Guardian, Romana regenerated. The reasons for her regeneration are complicated, but as she had amnesia for them at the time and told the Doctor that she chose to regenerate because she felt like it, I won't go into it here. Feel free to ask if you're curious.
Romana copied the body of Princess Astra, the living embodiment of the last piece of the Key to Time, for her next form, claiming that she just liked the look of it, as she had great control over her regenerations. The Doctor took issue with her copying another person's body, but eventually relented.
In her second incarnation, Romana was warmer, and her friendship with the Doctor further grew. She was more open in her affections for him, both verbally and physically, as well as taking on some of his traits. Some people call Romana II a 'more competent, female version of the Doctor'. I don't agree with that statement, but it gives a decent idea of how she appeared on a surface-level.
The Doctor and Romana continued to travel together until the Time Lords requested Romana to return. After all, Romana wasn't a renegade - she had left Gallifrey to assist the Doctor with a mission, and now that it was over, they wanted her to return. Romana was upset by this, as she wanted to stay with the Doctor, but the Doctor advised her to return.
(This is where Romana II's first set of 4DAs would go)
Before she had the opportunity to make any decision, the TARDIS became trapped in E-Space, a pocket dimension outside of regular space. Unable to return, the Doctor and Romana continued to travel together through E-Space, with stowaway teenager Adric joining them.
(And this is where Romana II's second set of 4DAs would go)
In their travels through E-Space, they met and helped a race of enslaved lion-esque aliens with time-sense, the Tharils. The Tharils helped them to work out how to return to regular space, but Romana chose to stay behind in E-Space, to help the Tharils recover from their slavery, and to further delay returning to Gallifrey. The Doctor gifted K9 Mark II to her, and she left.
(This is around about where the Key 2 Time arc happens. It's a sequel to the Key to Time arc featuring the Fifth Doctor)
At some point, when the Doctor was in his Seventh incarnation, Romana returned to Gallifrey. Upon returning, she was granted the Presidency (I won't go into the details; the important part is she became President). She met with the Doctor at least once shortly after becoming President, and they continued to have a positive relationship.
A few weeks into her Presidency, Romana and her entourage were attacked by the Daleks. They were captured, and Romana spent the next 20 years as a Dalek prisoner, being used a slave labour on Etra Prime, or otherwise having her mind ripped into to find Time Lord secrets.
The Sixth Doctor and his companion Evelyn Smythe became caught up in the incident, arriving at Archetryx as the Daleks invaded. Romana escaped from Etra Prime just as the Doctor arrived, and they worked together to fight the Daleks, succeeding in keeping them from invading Gallifrey.
The Doctor left after the Daleks were defeated - possibly due to being out of sync with Romana and Gallifrey's timeline - and Romana returned to her Presidency, taking no time to recover from the immense trauma she had suffered through.
After Etra Prime, Romana became more withdrawn and distrustful of others, sometimes coming across as cold. Her personality notably changed; most would probably put it down to her position as President, though the Doctor would likely be able to tell that it had more to do with Etra Prime than anything.
In his Eighth incarnation, the Doctor sometimes came to Gallifrey to visit Romana, or to try and convince her to come away on an adventure, succeeding on at least one occassion during the events of Shada (there are multiple versions of Shada, but for the sake of this blog I take the version with the Eighth Doctor as canon).
Romana later met the Eighth Doctor during the Anti-Time/Zagreus incident. The Doctor had saved his companion, Charley Pollard, from dying when she should have died. As a result, Charley became the source of an Anti-Time infection, that Romana and the Time Lords wanted to use to travel to the Anti-Time world to investigate claims that Rassilon was still living there.
In the Anti-Time universe, they met the Neverpeople, victims of the CIA erasing Time Lords from history. Romana's Coordinator, Vansell, become infected with Anti-Time and tried to sacrifice her to the Neverpeople, who blamed her for their fate, though Romana had no awareness that erasing people from time was still being practiced on Gallifrey.
The Neverpeople wanted to invade the universe of real-time, and the Doctor, Romana and Charley had to work to fight against them. The Doctor's ultimate plan was to sacrifice himself, trapping the Anti-Time infestation in his TARDIS with him.
Months passed, and the Doctor was presumed dead. Romana continued in her role as President. However, the Doctor was very much not dead. Leela, another former companion of the Doctor, was contacted by Rassilon in a dream, and told to bring Romana to the Death Zone.
A lot of things happened at this point, but the important part is that Rassilon was responsible for the Anti-Time infestation, and the Doctor was infected by it, calling himself Zagreus and losing touch with his true identity. Rassilon attempted to use Zagreus-Doctor, wanting to reclaim Gallifrey.
After Rassilon was stopped, the Doctor remained infected by Anti-Time, and for the sake of the universe, had to lock himself away. The last time that Romana and the Doctor spoke to each other before he left, he told her that he had lost all faith in Gallifrey and the Time Lords, asked how long it would be until she fell to corruption, and told her that he didn't want anything to do with Gallifrey ever again.
So, suffice to say, they didn't part on particularly good terms.
Romana withdrew further from others after the loss of the Doctor, though eventually Leela was able to break down her barriers. Despite their last encounter, Romana continued to have faith in the Doctor, genuinely believing that every version of the Doctor would always make the best choices, to the point of absolutely trusting an alternate version of the Doctor, to tragic consequences.
As President, Romana worked closely with the Doctor's brother, Irving Braxiatel.
At some point (probably back in his Seventh incarnation), the Doctor left Ace on Gallifrey to attend the Academy, which Romana had opened up to aliens. Ace became an agent in the CIA, and was someone who Romana came to trust.
Eventually, the Doctor cured his Anti-Time infection and returned to the universe, continuing on with his travels. Romana met with him again after this point, though their relationship didn't fully mend.
In the early days of the Time War, Romana asked the Doctor to help them, but the Doctor refused to become involved. Romana interpreted this as a personal rejection of her, though said that she didn't blame him, given what she had witnessed from Gallifrey in the Time War.
Still relatively early into the Time War, Romana (who was then serving as Coordinator of the CIA, rather than President), was exiled from Gallifrey after attempting to assassinate Rassilon, and was officially classed as Missing In Action not long after this.
The War Doctor worked with Leela during the Time War, so may have heard from her what really happened to Romana - that she had been captured by Rassilon, and was being held as his prisoner, while Leela herself was forcibly conscripted, with Romana's safety being used to keep her in line.
Whether or not the Doctor knew of Romana's fate during the Time War, it is unknown what became of her after it.

SINDEL TAKAR BIO
UNDER CO.
ORIGINAL CHARACTER | FANDOMLESS | EASILY SLOTTED INTO THE BOYS UNIVERSE ( loosely based on the MORTAL KOMBAT character Sindel ) FC: JANINA GAVANKAR
BASICS ↓ NAME: Sindel Takar SPECIES: Human | Supe AGE: 30 SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Bisexual POWERS ↓ WEAPONIZED VOCAL CHORDS : ( OFFENSIVE ) screams render any listener incapacitated last recorded decibel level = over 194, louder than a NASA ROCKET LAUNCH ( DEFENSIVE ) singing at any octave renders a listener unconscious
APPEARANCE ↓ HAIR: Black with a single white stripe EYE COLOUR: Brown BUILD: Toned / Thin PERSONALITY ↓ POSITIVE : Protective / Brave / Decisive / Logical NEGATIVE: Selfish / Stubborn / Standoffish / Sarcastic
From the moment she was born Sindel Takar kept people away with her voice. As a baby her cries were enough to bring any and all adults to their knees and as a result forced her parents to give her up for adoption; unable to bear the pain they had to withstand each and every time they attempted to care for her. Orphanages around the country refused to care for the girl and before long the infant Sindel found her way into the arms of a government organization - where she was treated as more of a freak than a person.
Confined to a sound proof room for most of her adolescence the Takar girl was studied, poked and prodded by those she had no other choice but to call her family - because what else could they be? At the age of five Sindel was subjugated to human trials; having thus far been forced to use her gift on animals. Reluctant at first to harm another being the Takar girl soon learned it was cause or be causedsuffering - and so she had no choice. That very first day Sindel caused a man’s brain to liquify - and it was then she began to distance herself from any and all human emotion.
The Agency controlled Sindel’s life until she was seventeen; teaching her all manor of combat and strategics, all the while gagged with an iron mouth guard, secured against her skull via a complicated pad lock system, the base of which would wrap around her jaw preventing her from opening it even a smidge. For all they taught the Takar girl though the Agency forgot one thing - Sindel was smart, clever enough to keep track of which guards were on watch when; even so far as to recall the intricate pathways that lead her to each and every testing room.
On a day like any other she watched from her soundproof room - like a lion trapped behind secure glass; as what could only be described as a portal opened up just a few feet away. Chaos ensued, gunfire, massacre and an e x p l o s i o n; one positioned so conveniently that it blew a hole clean through Sindel’s cage; and thus she was released.
With no identity to speak of and no social skills to be recognized the Takar girl very quickly took to life on the street; all the while keeping herself distanced from other people since according to her they were nothing but trouble. She’ll do what she has to in order to survive; selling drugs mostly - and if anyone ever gets too close she’s more than capable of taking them down; not to mention her back up plan - just one little scream.

While I was not playing, I got some new CC and I replaced the non-medieval armchairs I had for my lower classes. I got a new wedding arch and a mod for announcing betrothals under it. I’m not a big fan of arranged marriages, but I have that option in my game just in case of ROS-es and such. I like it when my sims roll Get Engaged/Married wants, which they do once they are adults only. If some unexpected pregnancy happens I'll make my sims tie the knot, too, but so far I’ve been mostly ignoring ACR. I did a dress rehearsal of Drifa and Bay’s wedding when I was checking if the mod worked. I also gave the twins small makeovers since I had to gussy Portia up on age up anyway. They got freckles and some new clothes I got.

I was trying to have this family keep the parrot, but on the last but one day of their round, I gave up. The pet had just been fed and it went through all of its food immediately and got the red hunger thought bubble. I had Bay release it. And it was not the only problem with it. My sims were just standing next to it, unable to talk to it and it was really getting on my nerves. Plus it’s really expensive to take care of birds and peasants can’t really afford that luxury. And with the bird off went the previous job of Bay's. He got a job in the Athletic career instead, as that's where his father used to work. His Fitness enthusiasm and body skill are already maxed out, so his career will probably get fast tracked. It also helps that Tinkering is his One True Hobby, in case he needs more Mechanical points. In terms of the pay the top of the Entertainer career paid only 105$, while Athletic career starts at 97$ - or 110$ if you get promoted on your first day. Bay lost a vacation day, but he’s a Workaholic, so I don’t think he minds. Bay actually got a flu this round (he brought it home from work). I don't have the deadly sickness mod so he was fine and thankfully didn’t infect anyone else. It definitely made it harder for him to work on his Fitness, and during his illness he was afraid of himself dying.

Declan Gardiner was running by and he caught May’s eye. Maybe I forced it on her a bit by having her check him out, but they have 3 bolts together, I just had to. She rolled a want to flirt with him and then to ask him out on a date. I locked that in for the next round, because Knowledge sims roll romance-related wants so rarely. She made her choice and it’s actually a pretty good suitor for her, as she would become a yeoman. Maybe they’ll even end up, becoming the town’s butchers. I really need a butcher in town, because I have too many animals, mostly male pigs in this household (and 8 more piglets were born this round!).

When Portia was still a toddler, one of the twins would go jogging, while the other one was taking care of their little sister. Portia was obsessed with Creativity wants since she was a toddler, but she had only the Logic toy. Upon age up she managed to max out the skill by playing the piano. I swear I never fed any of my kids smart milk, so it must have been just the fall aura that made her learn it so quickly. She aged up on Wednesday, having learnt all of the toddler skills and the Nursery Rhyme. I gave her her last trait (Party Animal). Her brother had a party this round, so that was quite fitting, especially that she must have been really looking forward to this party. She got to meet her father during the feast. Her father came over together with the head monk and I teleported in the 2 men that would come back to their homes this round because of the ROS I got for this family (just for some storytelling). Cyprian Carbonneau and Franklin Fulke enjoyed the meal immensely and the Crown paid them with a kaching (1000$) for holding this feast.

They didn’t get to dig for treasure at all this round, because it was very snowy.
375$ - tax.
500$ - rent.
~850$ to the Royal Treasury. The Crown has earned 121.050$ total.
200$ - to the Church (tithe + burial fee for Poppa I didn’t pay the last round, because I was waiting for her ghost to show up and it did… at the very end of their round, after Drifa had already moved in). The Church has earned 20,150$ total.
They were left with pretty much nothing (~30$) before getting the big kaching ROS bonus because of the constant feeding of the parrot that they had to set free. I got them a maypole (stereo) and an easel, because Portia wanted an easel when she aged up (Arts&Crafts is also May’s One True Hobby) and Bay wanted a stereo earlier (Drifa also had a modern looking one in her inventory). After paying everything, they were left with only 190$.
I have to say they got really lucky not with the ROS, but with the numbers they rolled later. Military men coming home from war ended up appreciating the meal they shared with them and the family was given 1000$, even despite everyone’s really low cooking skill. That's the most they could get with their nonexistent culinary potential. If you really want to know what I think... they probably ate the pigs...

I moved Drifa in with the sim blender. She’s 3 days younger than Bay and May. She will still age up at the very end of the next round and they can get married properly then. Before I moved in Drifa, I had also double checked how much money she was supposed to have and put it in her wallet. She had 825$ initially (from playing the piano and inheriting money from Myron), but as she had to pay a tax on that, she was only allowed to take 500$ with her. It left the Jenkins family with 1342$, as Sibyl won a swimming contest last round. They probably didn’t even notice Drifa’s leaving, since their money still checks out.
